I have been called many things over the years by children: Jack Frost, Fred Frost, and my personal favorite, by a little girl named Rae, “Frankenfrost.”
But yesterday was a first for me, and it was from the lips of a 3yr old little girl named, Haylee. Haylee and her big sister, Taylor came with in with their mom and grandmother for a studio session. They were dressed with bows in their perfectly curled hair, red tulle skirts and sparkly silver shoes.
Cheri dropped to the floor and began doing her Cheri Thing: asking questions and being silly. She asked Haylee if she liked bubbles.
“Yes,” Haylee replied, “PINK bubbles.”
As luck would have it, our giant bubble jar is pink.
And as playtime began and Cheri began conspiring with the girls, as to just where those bubbles were going to be popped, I heard Haylee say, “Pop it on Mike.”
“Who?” Cheri asked.
“Mike!’ Haylee answered excitedly, and pointed to me.
“Alright then,” Cheri replied with a laugh, and then turned to me and said, “Get ready, Mike.”
Where “Mike” came from, nobody really knows, but for the rest of the session, I was Mike Frost. I hope this doesn’t mean I have to change my logo. But for Haylee, I’d consider it. <grin>
